About Rave Communications
Rave Communications was formed in 1996 to provide web development, web hosting and network consulting services for the Champaign-Urbana, IL area. Since that time, the company has grown to provide specialized web development and integration, high-end business web hosting and network engineering and security services.
Our clients range from small, independent musicians to nationwide credit card processing companies, and all our clients receive the same personal, high-quality service that has kept us growing since our inception.
Management Staff
John Mies, Director of
Business Operations
John Mies has an extensive background in marketing, retailing, publishing,
and computers. He began in business in 1971, and during his career he
owned and operated a chain of bedding and furniture stores in Central
Illinois. In 1986 he founded a national buying organization whose membership
grew to over two hundred stores nationwide. John was president of several
national industry organizations, and the editor of three national industry
newsletters. In 1995, he left the bedding business and established POP
accesses in several central Illinois cities. Besides his responsibilities
of business manager, he is the chief design coordinator for Rave Communications.
John has been an annual biographical subject in Who's Who in America since 1995.
| Ed Thomson,
Director of Technical Operations Ed Thomson attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Science. He began his career at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications, pioneering web services during the creation of NCSA Mosaic and NCSA's web server. He then went on to work for industry leaders in mathematical computing and software development, performing software engineering, high-end web development and enterprise network administration. Before starting Rave Communications, Ed was the recipient of both advertising and technical awards for his work on web innovative web sites. Now, Ed provides technical direction for Rave Communications, while still working one-on-one with clients. |
